New Sync product – iPhone Xs review
We were one of the lucky few tech shops in Manchester to receive the iPhone Xs and Xs Max. This meant we were able to get well-acquainted with the latest offering from Apple….and here are our thoughts!
Unboxing
The device comes packaged beautifully with a coloured planet screensaver, individually designed for each of the three case colours. This is mirrored on the actual screen once switched on.
The iPhone Xs
Like the iPhone X before it, the iPhone Xs comes with no home button, with a swipe function instead. This is extremely easy to get used to – though you do go through a few presses of a non-existent button at first if you weren’t already an iPhone X user!
The 5.1 inch Retina OLED display is flawless. It offers a crisp display with lifelike photos – the best iPhone screen to date in our opinion.
The glass casing makes the gold, silver and Space Grey really stand out, with a shiny finish to each design.
Security
Fingerprints are a thing of the past with the iPhone Xs, with Face ID allowing you to log in with a glance. This feature has been adjusted from its original offering with the iPhone X. You can now offer alternative faces, in case you want to grow a beard, wear a hat or even add another person.
The camera
One of the most exciting aspects of the phone is the 12MP dual camera on the rear of the iPhone Xs and the front-facing 7MP TrueDepth camera. The cameras offer something no iPhone has before with depth editing after you have taken your photo. This is bound to up your Insta-game, with Portrait Lighting to remove the words ‘bad angle’ from your vocabulary.
Also, all of the new features of the iPhone Xs are complemented by the A12 Bionic chip. This next-generation engine increases efficiency of the device as a whole, giving more battery life even with a reduced capacity than the iPhone X.
Above all, the iPhone Xs truly is a must-have phone and the innovation shows the strides forward Apple is making in their device evolution.
